  • Helmet

  1. Drop into a halfpipe. The first step in learning how to do an alley oop on a snowboard is dropping into a halfpipe. An alley oop is a trick that can only be performed in a halfpipe. 
  2. Build up speed. Speed is an important part of learning how to do an alley oop on a snowboard. You will need a good amount of speed to do an alley oop, so you might need to spend some time building up speed in the halfpipe before attempting the trick. You can also build up speed before dropping in.
  3. Approach the lip of the halfpipe. Once you have built up speed it is time to move on to the next step in learning how to do an alley oop on a snowboard. You have to ride up the wall of the halfpipe approaching the lip. Keep your knees bent so you can pop up at the end and get yourself more air.
  4. Do the alley oop. Performing the actual alley oop is simple, it just takes some practice. When you are in the air you want to rotate 180 degrees frontside. This means you will be turning the opposite way from the direction you are traveling down the halfpipe.
