Leaning how to do a backflip on a snowboard is a stunt that takes a lot of courage and skill. This is not a stunt that you can learn or simulate before you attempt it. With out leaning control of your board before you attempt this procedure, you can cause serious injury to yourself by not being able to land proper. Once you have made up your mind to do so, it is time to just do it. With a few pointers to consider while you relax and feel the freedom of the snow, air, and view, you will be capable of landing safe and go for another round.

  1. Examine your area. There are a few things to note from the funniest home video files. Be sure to check both landing and takeoff areas. You do not want branches, trees, rocks, or even other boarders to hinder your way though the air.
  2. Run the ramps. It is a good idea to try the ramp out before you actually attempt a backflip. You need to get up quite a bit of speed for height and rotation when exiting the ramp.
  3. Time for execution. Your ready attempt the backflip. Drop in fast and square up to the takeoff ramp. Keep your knees bent and stay low till take off. When clear of the ramp, pop up and though your head straight back letting your body follow. Keep your head back and judge your rotation. Watch the rotation of the earth below and look for the landing. To speed up the rotation you can ball up, and to slow it down, extend out your body.
  4. Land and ride. Once you have spotted your landing pull your self around with the board under you. Point your board in the same direction as when you left the ground. Land it smooth and ride on.

Like a cat, you have landed on your feet. There is no feeling like it watching the earth as you rotate above it with speed and destination. The freedom is intense, but you must be committed to it and confident to execute it with out fail. Remember, this is not a stunt for the faint of hart. You must have a good Idea of what you are doing before you attempt this stunt. Once you have done it the first time though, it will be much easier to repeat your stunts, and add some personal style to them. So picture the stunt before you do it, then get a feel of what it will consist of. Relax and follow your preparation and let it flow. Never jump alone, and share your success.
