If you are a soccer player, you may want to learn how to do a rainbow in soccer so you can have another trick to use during a game. Being skilled with a soccer ball is a must for any player and the more tricks you can use, the better. It is easy to do a rainbow in soccer once you practice, so take your time and master the skill.

Things you may need:

  • Soccer ball
  • Soccer cleats
  1. Do some standard juggling before you try to do a rainbow in soccer. This will help you loosen up so the trick will be easier to perform. Kick the ball lightly up in the air and alternate feet to juggle the soccer ball. Once you are warmed up, place the ball on the ground in front of you to attempt a rainbow in soccer.
  2. Put the heel of one foot in front of the soccer ball. Put the other foot behind the ball so your instep is touching the ball. To do a rainbow in soccer, use your back foot to roll up and pin the ball against the back of your front leg. Lean forward slightly, bending your front leg at the knee and then loft the ball up in the air behind you off the back part of your front leg.
  3. The ball should sail over your head. This is how you will use the trick to elude a defender. The ball will return to your control if you perform the rainbow correctly.
  4. Once you master the trick, switch legs. Practice the trick using different legs so you are equally good with both. This will help you in a game situation since you will not have to reposition your feet when you want to try the rainbow in soccer. Do not get frustrated if you are having trouble. Keep practicing the rainbow and eventually you will be able to do it at will.
