How To Do Skateboard Tricks For Beginners
Learning how to do skateboard tricks is one of the most frustrating elements of the sport for beginners. Use these tips to learn skateboard tricks and improve your riding skills.
- Learn how to ride the board. Many beginners don't understand how to properly ride the skateboard. When you first push off, the foot on the board will point straight ahead, like it does when you walk. But once you've got some momentum and begin riding the board, you'll want both feet to face to one side. Many beginners keep one foot perpendicular to the other when riding the board, but this doesn't allow you to control it.
- Learn basic tricks. The manual is one of the easiest tricks for beginners to learn, since it doesn't require you to jump, flip or manipulate the board into the air. A skateboard manual involves riding around on your two back wheels, like a wheelie. The manual takes a lot of grace and balance, but practice will make you more comfortable with the board and improve your skills.
- Learn to ollie. The ollie, which allows the board to jump into the air, is one of the most basic skateboard tricks. It forms the basis for flip tricks, grinds, rails and almost all other skateboard tricks. The ollie should be one of the first tricks you learn.
- Ask your friends for help. The best way for beginners to learn skateboard tricks is from other, more advanced skateboarders. If you don't know anyone who skates, go to local skate parks and other skating areas and hang around until you've managed to befriend some skaters who are better than you. Most skateboarders will be happy to help out a beginner.
Tips & Warnings:
