  1. Decide what type of official you will use for your tennis game. There are three types of officials for a tennis match. The tournament referee, chair umpire and linesman. You will need to decide how many officials you wish to use for your tennis game.
  2. It is all in the details. When you request any official for a tennis match, you should know all the details of the match. Requesting a tennis official can be technical. So you will need to know the location, time, day and type of tennis game being played. In general, tennis matches or games at the amateur level are not monitored by officials. This is true for high school and college. The important tournaments tend to have officials.
  3. Know where to go.  If you wish to request an official for a tennis game, you have a couple of options. Go to your local park district. Most local part districts will hire officials throughout the year and summer to be officials for a variety of sports. If they have an official for the sport of tennis, you can request one. You will need to go to the park district and fill out a form and request the official. The other options is to find and pay for the official yourself. Simply search online for tennis officials in your area. From this list, call and contact the official. Be sure to check all references and make sure they are legitimate.
