How Does The Atkins Diet Work?

How does the Atkins diet work? The Atkins Nutritional Approach, which is a program of carbohydrate control, is the key. The Atkins Diet contains four phases in total.  The phases are known as Phase One Induction, Phase Two Ongoing Weight Loss, Phase Three Pre-Maintenance and Phase Four Lifetime Maintenance. The program works because it makes the dieter produce less insulin which keeps energy and blood sugar level.

  1. Obtain an Atkins Diet book. Once you obtain an Atkins Diet book, follow the exact phases in order to make The Atkins Diet work. The books typically all have recipes in them as well as guidance, so it will not be difficult to begin cooking the Atkins way at once. Carbohydrates may still be consumed, it is just that this diet restricts them and that is what makes The Atkins Diet work.
  2. Prioritize Fiber in the Diet. Fiber is so very important on this or any diet. Fiber causes improved elimination as well as a feeling of satiation so that the individual does not continue to eat too much. Fiber can really help The Atkins Diet work.
  3. Exercise is Still Crucial. Exercise is still an important component of good health regardless of what diet is chosen. Exercise will cause increased calorie burn as well as more energy and faster results.

The above is an introduction into The Atkins Diet. The Atkins Nutritional Approach involves weight loss in four stages. Those stages make The Atkins Diet work.  Within the context of the program, it is also beneficial to use recipes from the Atkins Diet books, remember to exercise and eat fiber rich foods as well. All these things make The Atkins Diet work well for many who follow it.
