How To Download Halo
Want to learn how to download Halo? Halo: Combat Evolved is (known better as "Halo") is a video game developed by Bungie Studios and published by Microsoft in 2001. Halo was the original Xbox's "killer application", as in it made the Xbox series into what it is today. If you'd like to download Halo for your Xbox 360, read on then Master Chief!
- Start up your Xbox 360. The original Xbox does not support Live's "Xbox Originals" downloading capability (probably because it is the original). So you'll need to power on your 360 to enjoy this feature, which is okay for most people in the 21st century who already have upgraded to the newer version. If you do have the original Xbox, however, consider simply purchasing Halo from the Bungie website.
- Browse the marketplace. You will need an Xbox Live Silver membership, which is free (it will prompt you to sign up when you click on the marketplace). Once you have navigated to the market, it's your job to find the title "Halo". Click to "browse all" downloadable Xbox originals and being your search with the letter 'H'.
- Load up your account with points. Microsoft Points are the official currency for most aspects of the Xbox Live marketplace (aside from more serious transactions). Halo: Combat Evolved is 1200 Microsoft Points, which translates into $15.00 (because 800 MP is $10, exactly). You can either buy Microsoft Points at a local game shop or online at the Xbox Live website. You'll obviously need $15 to download Halo.
- Download Halo! Once you've found the game among all of the Xbox originals, simply press the 'A' button when it is highlighted. Your system will prompt you, asking if it is okay to complete the transaction. Press 'A' once more and begin the downloading process.
- Wait and play. It will take a while to transmit Halo to your Xbox 360, so go ahead and get a snack. The game isn't exactly compact, and was considered the most revolutionary game of its day, so expect a good amount of waiting time before it is ready. Once completed, go to your 'game library', which is in the row your avatar is on, and select Halo.
Halo is a both an amazing adventure and a great First Person Shooter. When you download Halo, you'll have to be temporarily disconnected from Xbox Live (as with all originals), so don't bother hooking up the microphone for a party. Good luck, and have a good fight with the forces of the Covenant sir!
