How To Download Microsoft Word

If you simply need Microsoft Word, you may wonder how to download Microsoft Word. You do not have to purchase the entire Microsoft Office package if you plan to only use Microsoft Word. If you will only need Microsoft Word, you will save yourself from having to purchase Microsoft Office.

  1. Go to the "Microsoft Store" website and find the "Microsoft Office Word" downloads. You will not need to search for the software.
  2. Select the version of "Microsoft Word" you want. On the "Microsoft Store" website you have the option to download "Microsoft Word 2007" directly from the site. If you want the full version, you will need to pay for it. If you wish to simply upgrade to Microsoft Word 2007, simply purchase the upgrade. You also have the option to download a 60 day free trial of the most recent version of "Microsoft Word". Another option is to receive a CD containing a trial for the most recent "Microsoft Word" program. You can use this CD as a backup for your "Microsoft Office" software. If your system crashes this will allow for an easier re-installation of the software. Once you have selected and downloaded the version you need proceed to the next steps. Save your selected version of Microsoft somewhere on your computer.
  3. Install "Microsoft Word" by opening your download wherever you saved it on your computer. If you are using "Internet Explorer" you need to locate the "Microsoft Word EXE" file. If you are using "Mozilla Firefox", simply click on the listing in "Downloads". Follow the directions on your screen. Use the recommended installation. Follow the directions until you reach "Finish".
