There are plenty of people who know how to download Windows XP online, but you cannot download it legally. The Microsoft website does not even have a way to download Windows XP.  The only way you can get Windows XP is by purchasing it. If you download it illegally you would not have a product key and it would be useless to you. Microsoft makes their CDs like this to prevent piracy. In the steps below are some ways you can get Windows XP.

1. Purchase Windows XP. You can purchase Windows XP online or in a computer retail store.
2. If you have a Windows CD but do not have the product key there are ways you can find it. There are Windows XP Product key finders on the Internet. You need to search on Google to find this software and download it. You still need to have your legally purchased Windows XP installation CD to be able to find your product key online.
3. If you have your product key but not the Windows XP installation CD you can contact Microsoft. You have to have your proof of purchase before they will give you one.

No Windows XP CD is worth anything if you do not have a product key. You are not paying for the CD itself but paying for a product key. If you cannot find it but have a CD your cheapest way to get it is through Microsoft, but you have to have proof of purchase before they will send you one. If you do not have the proof of purchase  the only option you have is to purchase a legal copy of Windows XP.
