How To Drive A Motorbike

Are you interested in learning how to drive a motorbike? Driving a motorbike safely requires focus, skill, and knowledge. It can be extremely dangerous driving a motorbike, especially if you are first learning. You must practice and know exactly what you are doing to be safe when driving a motorbike. When you learn how to safely drive a motorbike it can be a relaxing, fun, and enjoyable ride. One of the safest things you can do when you drive a motor bike is wear the proper gear.

To drive a motorbike you need:

  • motorbike
  • helmet
  • gloves (leather)
  • eye protection
  • boots
  1. Start the engine of your motorbike. Either press or kick the start button on the motorbike. Be sure to hold the clutch lever towards the handle bars when starting the engine.
  2. Learn to control the speed. Use either the throttle or accelerator to increase the speed slowly. To prevent from getting a jerking motion, make sure that you release the clutch smoothly. Start off driving slowly and then work you way up towards reaching your desired speed as you get more comfortable driving the motorbike.
  3. Practice stopping the motorbike. When you apply the brake use the clutch to ease the gear shift. Apply both brakes simultaneously and place one foot on the ground to support you as you come to a stop.
  4. Practice, practice, practice. Avoid extremely busy areas while learning. Learn all of the controls, functions, and feature of the motorbike. The more you practice the more comfortable you will get with controlling the speed of the motorbike, as well as stopping the motorbike.
