Set up networks.  The first thing you'll want to do is set up networks, which will help you connect with people you went to high school or college with, or anyone that you may know from your hometown or city you currently reside in.  In the upper right-hand corner, you'll see three words that read:  Home. Profile.  Account.  Click on the word 'account'.  On the pull-down menu, select 'account settings'.  Begin by clicking on the 'networks' tab and entering information that would pertain to people you would like to connect with.  For example, type in the name of your high school or college.  Once you found what you are looking for, click on 'join network'.

  4. Edit personal information.  If you have decided that you would like to share more (or less) about yourself than what is currently displayed on your Facebook page, edit your personal information.  From your home page, click on the 'profile' tab.  On the left, below your profile picture, you'll see a box labeled 'information'.  Next to the box, you'll see a small icon that looks like a pencil.  Click on that pencil, and then scroll down and select 'edit information'.  Now, you'll be on the page that will show you how to edit Facebook personal information.  Change the sections you want to edit, and then scroll down and click on the 'save changes' tab.
