How To Exercise Legs
Learning how to exercise legs will help you know what to do to strengthen your thighs and calf muscles. These exercises also help to increase the flexibility in your leg muscles. There are a number of ways to exercise legs.
- Knee extension: A knee extension is performed by sitting in a chair so that your feet barely touch the floor. You can use ankle weights for this leg exercise, if you wish. Slowly extend your leg until the knee is straight. Count to four, and then slowly lower your leg. Do this ten times, and then repeat with the other leg. You can use ankle weights when performing this leg exercise.

Knee curl: A knee curl is performed by standing behind a chair with your legs shoulder-length apart. Hold on to the chair for support. Slowly bend your leg as much as you can. Count to four, and then slowly lower your leg. Do this ten times and then repeat with the other leg. Use ankle weights, if you wish.
- Squats: Squats are performed by standing with your legs shoulder-length apart. Bend your hips back as far as you can, and hold the position for a count of two or three. Slowly stand back up and repeat ten times.
- Lunges: Lunges are a great way to exercise legs. To perform them, stand with your legs shoulder-length apart. Step forward with one foot so that it is a couple of few in front of you. Bend both of your legs until your buttocks is slightly above the ground. Hold this position for a count of four and slowly return to your starting position. Do this ten times, and then repeat with the other leg.
