Need to know how to find cheap cycling gear? Cycling gear is often overpriced, but there are many places where you can find cheap cycling gear. Save some money on you cycling gear and invest the money you save in new bike components or a case of beer. Many cyclists think that the amount of money they pay for their cycling gear is as important as their manhood, but that's crap and we all know it. Here are some ways to find cheap cycling gear.

  1. Nashbar.com. Bike Nashbar is often times called TrashBar, but the fact is that Nashbar sells a lot of cycling gear that is cheaper than what you would find in your local bike shop. If you must have the latest Tour de France jersey, you will not find it on Nashbar. If you need a good cycling jersey for 20 or 30 dollars, then take a look at what Nashbar offers.
  2. Thrift stores. Head down to your local thrift store. You probably will not find any cycling jerseys, but you can find some old wool pants and make yourself some homemade knickers for your bicycle commute to work. Creativity is key when you shop for cycling gear at thrift stores, but you'd be surprised at what you can find.
  3. Online auction sites. Auction sites have a lot of cycling clothing for cheap. It is easy to find cheap cycling clothing on these sites because lots of cyclists decide to sell their old items when they upgrade to something flashier or more expensive.
  4. PricePoint.com. PricePoint offers a lot of cheap cycling gear. PricePoint is not always the cheapest, but they do offer almost all of their cycling clothes at costs lower than retail. Your local bike shop probably sells at retail, if not higher. PricePoint also offers a wide range of cheaper mountain bike clothing.
  5. WheelWorld.com. WheelWorld sells a lot of different cycling clothing. You can find cheap cycling gear at WheelWorld, which often has sales, and you can buy road jerseys as wells as mountain bike jerseys for as little as ten dollars. If you want cheap cycling gear, then keep WheelWorld bookmarked on your browser and check it regularly.
  6. Your fellow riders. If you ride with a local biking group, then put the word out that you are looking for some cheap cycling gear. Sometimes you will have a fellow rider with older cycling gear he is no longer using, and he will either sell it to you real cheap or maybe even give it to you for free.

Finding cheap cycling gear can sometimes be hard, but if you check all of the places above on a regular basis you are bound to find some great deals. If all else fails, you can buy a sewing machine and learn how to use it.
