How To Find A Christian Weight Loss Program
If you are a Christian, you may want to know how to find a Christian weight loss program so you can ensure that your weight loss plan adheres to guidelines in the Bible. The Bible says that your body is God’s temple while you are here on earth. As such, it is your job to ensure that your body is as healthy as possible.
- Contact your pastor. Many churches, especially larger churches, have weight loss programs and support groups for their members. Even if your church doesn’t have any programs for weight loss, your pastor may be able to help you go through some other programs to be sure that the weight loss method is in line with your church’s doctrine.
- Consult your Bible about the Daniel Fast. The book of Daniel (chapters 2 and 10) offers a healthy eating program that is based on eating fresh fruits and vegetables and drinking water. Meat, dairy products, grains, sweetened foods and sugar are all forbidden on this diet. While this diet can help you lose weight, it isn’t suggested as a permanent eating plan. The Daniel Fast is usually done for 7, 10, 14 or 21 days at a time.
- Head to your local Christian book store to find a book about Christian weight loss. The Eden Diet is one example of a book that is based on Christian weight loss principles. Thumb through the book to ensure that all basic principles listed in the book are in line with your religious beliefs.
- Check out Christian weight loss programs on the Internet. The Lost Vineyard, for example, is a free online Christian weight loss program. Once again, make sure that the guidelines presented are appropriate for your religious beliefs.
