Everyone yearns for love, and the way to start on the path to happiness is to know how to find a life partner. Partners may come and partners may go but if you want a life partner, you need to learn how to be a life partner. Love is give and take, and learning how to give more than to take is key to finding and keeping a life partner.

  1. Find a life partner who shares your passions. A lifelong love relationship will be easier to share if you and your life partner have some passions in common. If you don't immediately have any passions in common, search around together and see if you can uncover something to do together. Investigate watercolor classes, or take in a museum art tour on a Sunday afternoon. Neither may spark that passion in either of you but you'll be building your relationship by sharing the moments together.
  2. Look in likely places to find a life partner. Again, look to your passion to open up the possibility of finding a life partner. For example, if you have a love of sailing, make friends at different marinas in the area to help find a life partner. Also, almost any city on the water will offer sailing classes geared to singles - a perfect way to start a new relationship with a new sailing companion.
  3. Ask your friends if they know anyone who might be a partner for you. No one knows you better than those close to you, except for you, of course! Ask your friends if they have any single friends who might fit your wants for a life partner. Express to your friends those qualities in a companion that are important to you and ask if they are open to blind dates. Your life partner may be looking for you, too.
  4. Approach strangers with a friendly demeanor. Treat strangers kindly, and you might be surprised who you meet. Open a door for a stranger, male or female, and your good manners will stand out. Invite those who interest you to a casual date for coffee. Sure, you might have some rejections but you'll never know until you try. You life partner in love may be right around the corner.
