Has your email inbox been attacked by a virus? Did you lose all of your email addresses in your contacts information? Or perhaps you are trying to search for an old friend, family member or business referral. If you are questioning how to find someone's email address, the Internet allows a variety of ways for you to find it, without sending you on a wild goose chase. You should also be able to find someone's email address without spending any money.

To find someone's email address , you will need:

  • Computer with access to the Internet
  • membership to social networking website (optional)

  1. Search the popular social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter or MySpace to find someone's email address. Simply type in the person's name if you know it and search for their profile page. Sometimes a person may list their email address in their profile. If it isn't listed, you may also send the individual a message within the social networking website too.
  2. Dig through your old high school and college roots. Check alumni websites or associations from your school or try websites like Classmates.com. Many schools offer alumni information from past graduates and will have pages that have contact information that includes an email address.
  3. Send out a “looking for” email to all of your friends and family. Some of your friends or family may hang with similar social circles as you, and could have access to the email address that you are looking for. Simply let them know who are you looking for and ask if anybody has their email address. You just might get lucky and have a reply!
  4. Type the person's or business name into a search engine and see if any contact webpages are displayed. Use people search websites such as whitepages.com (provide telephone numbers and addresses), peoplesearch or Yahoo! people search.

Warning!

Some websites may ask for a fee to find information on a person. Never spend money to find basic information such as an email address.

Tips

Once you find an email address, write it down or add it to your contact list in your email inbox.
