Buying a new deck is the best way to fix a snapped board. However, read on and learn the other way to fix your board.

What you will need to get this done:

Tools:

  • Power drill
  • ¼-inch bit
  • Phillips screwdriver

Supplies:

  • "I" bracket (3)
  • Self taping screws ¼-inch (6)
  • Wood glue
  • Hold-down clamp
  • Snapped skateboard
  • Pencil
  1. Clean up the board the best you can. Remove any splinters and loose pieces. Lay the skateboard on its deck. Apply wood glue before pushing the two sides together. Apply the hold-down clamps.
  2. Apply a bead of glue over the fitted crack. Place the "I" brackets across the base of the skateboard. Even them out distance-wise. Mark the screw holes and remove. Using the power drill with ¼-inch bit, drill pilot holes.
  3. Set the "I" brackets into place. Screw in the six self-taping screws. Leave overnight to allow the glue to dry. Remove the hold-down clamps. Do not attempt to perform tricks, jumps or any other strenuous skateboarding.
