How To Fix A Torn Tricep Muscle

Need to know how to fix a torn tricep muscle? In most cases a torn tricep can occur when lifting heavy weights or repetitive motion, such as throwing a baseball or using a tennis racket. To fix a torn tricep muscle will require a few techniques and some at home products. If your tricep is completely torn off the bone you can't fix it yourself. Seek medical emergency for this problem.

The items you will need:

  • Broom or a long stick
  • Protection guard
  • Sling
  • Ice
  • Elastic band
  • Epson salt

Until you have some motion in your tricep muscle can you begin warming up. Before beginning any activity, warm up your tricep muscles. For five to ten minutes, you will apply these different methods to warm up your muscles. These exercises will be done without any weights.

  1. Grab a broom or a long stick. You will begin to do bench presses with this object.
  2. Lay flat on a bench and grab hold of the object. With arms extended and your triceps slightly squeezed at the highest point lower the object slowly. Inhale as you lower and exhale as you bring it back to the starting position.
  3. Incline pushups. With both hands leaning against a wall or a bench begin to lower yourself. Inhale as you slowly lower yourself and begin to rise back to where you started from. Doing these exercises will prevent injury from occurring.

Then you can implement the “PRICE” technique. This technique is great when you need to know how to  fix a torn tricep muscle.

  1. P” is protecting the affected area. Whether it’s with a sling or a tricep protection guard, you can’t risk further injuring yourself because you can suffer permanent damage to your torn tricep muscle.
  2. R” is resting your tricep muscle. Allow your body to heal itself by resting the injury.
  3. I” is for icing your injury. Ice is known to reduce the effects of swelling and inflammation. Ice will also reduce pain that is associated with an injury.
  4. C” is for compressing the tricep muscle. To compress the injury you will need a elastic band to wrap the injury.
  5. E” is for elevating your tricep muscle at all times. Use a sling to elevate the injury In severe cases you may need to get a cast.  

Tip: Epson salt is a great alternative to relieve pain. Pour the contents in a tub full of water and wait for it to dissolve. Relax for a few minutes inside the tub. With consistency you will have a significant improvement of your torn tricep muscle.
