Figuring out how to gain weight with a fast metabolism may seem like a daunting task, but this goal is achievable with a strict eating regiment. Set a goal on how much weight you would like to gain. People who are trying to loss weight set the same goals, so don't feel embarrassed. People may want a fast metabolism, but those who struggle to gain weight can be called anorexic. Don't put thought into what people say, because these emotions can led to depression. This will have an adverse effect on your weight gaining diet.

  1. Begin to count your calories. To gain weight with a fast metabolism is to eat more calories than you burn off. This means, there will be times when you don't want to eat, but in order to gain weight you will have to eat. Consume five meals a day and eat over 2,500 calories.
  2. Take a nap after you eat. When your doing daily activities you burn off calories; taking a nap will help store your calories. This will significantly make you gain weight.
  3. Drink plenty of water. This will help give the energy needed to achieve your goal of gaining weight. Drink about a half gallon per day.
  4. Don't eat foods that are high in saturated fat. Don't resort to eating at fast food restaurants or consuming junk foods to gain weight because you have a fast metabolism. This will put your health at risk. There is a safe way of gaining weight. Eat foods that have good fats such as fish, nuts, pasta, rice, pancakes, lean meat, chicken breast, turkey and don't forget your fruits and vegetables.
  5. Start doing some weight training. Although, fat weights more than muscle it's wise to workout, so your proportions can be toned up. Many people who workout take meal replacements in the form of a powder. The powder should be high in protein and calories. Milk should be include in the powder to add a better taste. This is a great solution for people with a fast metabolism.

It's important to know that there will come a point-of-time when you won't gain any weight. When this time comes do not feel discourage, consume more than 3,000 calories a day.
