How To Game Hunting In Africa

Learning how to go game hunting in Africa can be a long process, as each region and the game within different parts of the continent may vary greatly. There are several things to look into when preparing for a game hunting trip to Africa.

  1. Unless you are going with a friend or with someone else who has much experience, you will have to select a trip for yourself. Use your favorite search engines to find big game hunting trips if you have nothing specific in mind. This should be the biggest and most important step in your hunting experience, as it will decide the region you go to, where you will stay at night, the conditions of your trip and the animals that you will be hunting. Plan accordingly. Select a trip from a hunting company that is in a place you will want to be, has lodging amenities that suite your desires, has the right animals and, of course, fits your personal budget.
  2. Before booking a trip, look around and research all of the viable options. Weigh different companies and regions against one another to find your ultimate destination.
  3. Once you are set to go, be sure that you have all of the equipment that you will need. Look into the area that you will be hunting in to get a feel for the landscape, and talk with people who will be hunting with you or guiding you to find out if you need special camouflage or actual equipment.
  4. You will likely have to bring basic camping and survival supplies such as sunscreen, bug spray, mosquito netting, a flashlight and first aid supplies. Be sure you have everything that you will not be able to get when you are at the location you will be hunting from.

Once you have done plenty of research and actually booked a trip, be sure that you have everything that you will need. Special tags may need to be purchased, and you may have to use certain hunting equipment, so make sure you do not overlook your preparation. Once on site, much of the rest is up to you and your hunting abilities.
