How To Get CPR First Aid Certification

Whether CPR is a requirement in your line of work or you’re concerned about a family emergency, how to get CPR first aid certification is a valid concern. Fortunately, CPR courses are available to anyone wishing to take advantage of the training. If you would like to become CPR certified, you have multiple options.

  1. Contact the Red Cross. To sign up for a CPR course, logon to the American Red Cross website. Enter your zip code to contact your local Chapter. You can then email your local chapter or visit their website.
  2. Sign up for a CPR Course. Select the “Get Trained” link. Enter your personal and contact information. Select the type of test you want from the list of courses. Note the date and location where the course will be held. If the date and time works for you, click on “Register.” 
  3. Create an account. Create a username and password. Pay for the course. You can expect to pay about $45. Be sure to show up for the course on the designated date. 
  4. Look for a nationally recognized e-learning company. If you prefer to take the course online, be sure that the company you certify through is nationally recognized. Such companies generally provide training through videos. Their certificates are normally valid for two years and provide a money-back guarantee if you’re not satisfied with the training.
As you can see, obtaining a CPR first aid certificate is not complicated. You can take it onsite or from the convenience of your own home. Considering the benefits derived from CPR training, the fee that you normally have to pay is insignificant. With a small investment of your time, you too can become certified in CPR and first aid.
