The iPhone is a Global Systems for Mobile Communications (GSM) based cellular phone that you can customize by downloading applications or apps from Apple's App Store. The App Store offers thousand of free and paid applications for your iPhone.

Things You'll Need:

Cellular data or Wi-Fi connection

Tap Apple's "App Store" icon on your iPhone. Apple's App Store is pre-installed on all iPhones.
Select the "Search" option located in the lower-right corner of Apple's App Store. Type the name of the application you want to install in the search pad using the iPhone's virtual keyboard. Alternatively, if you don't know the name of the application, you can search by application subject. Press the blue "Search" button.
Select the "Categories" button to search for applications by category. Applications are divided into 20 categories for easy searching.

Tap the blue "Free" icon. On the next screen, select the green "Install" option.
Wait while your iPhone downloads and installs the application. When the process is complete, your iPhone will return to the home-screen.
