If you have a job that requires that you know CPR, then you need to know how to get free CPR certification. You can get your CPR certification easily if you are willing to pay, but you may not know that getting a free CPR certification is just as easy. There are plenty of CPR certification opportunities, but there is little information on how to get them. Fear not; in this article we will show you the step-by-step solution for getting free CPR certification.

  1. Know the type of certification you need to get. There are many types of certification. For example, there is Red Cross certification for babysitters. Know what type of certification you need before you arrange an appointment to obtain your certification. Or, you can contact your employer for the type of certification you will need.
  2. Non-profit organizations are the key. The free opportunities are usually provided by non-profit organizations, such as the Red Cross. However, there are other places, such as volunteer fire stations in certain places, that will also certify you for free. Your best bet? If you live in a suburban area and have a volunteer fire station, contact them first. If they do not do it, contact the local Red Cross.
  3. Go volunteering. Volunteering might be another way to get free CPR certification. Sometimes, if you work with certain groups, the organization will get you certified for free. Sometimes, they have to certify you beforehand in order for you to qualify for the position.
