How To Get Keys Working On The Blackberry Pearl

If you are not willing to head to your cell provider's repair center, you need to know how to get keys working on the BlackBerry Pearl. The BlackBerry Pearl is a great device when it's functioning. Unfortunately, it doesn't work properly all the time. To get the keys working on the BlackBerry Pearl, there are a couple of steps you can try before heading to the repair center.

1. One of the first things you want to check out when your BlackBerry Pearl keys stop functioning is the settings. The BlackBerry Pearl can be automatically set to lock when not in use. If you notice the phone is unlocked when a call comes through, but locks immediately after the call, then your keypad lock is on. To unlock your BlackBerry Pearl's keypad, simply press the pound key and the call key. Once you press the keys, you will be presented with an option to unlock the phone.  
2. If you've checked your settings and the keys on your BlackBerry Pearl are still not working, try pulling the battery. Oftentimes, a hard reset will cure your BlackBerry Pearl's ailments. To perform a hard reset, simply leave the BlackBerry Pearl on, and pull the battery. Be sure to leave the battery out for at least one minute. After a minute is up, replace the battery, and the keys should be working on your BlackBerry Pearl.  

If you are still cannot get the keys working on your BlackBerry Pearl, it is time to head to your cell provider's repair center. With most companies, you can contact their tech support department, and they will send a replacement device to you and save you the hassle of going to the repair center.
