How To Get A Mohawk

A mohawk is the pinnacle (get it?) of cool hairstyles, and you can learn how to get a mohawk at home. The best way to get a mohawk is at a barber, but if you cannot afford it, it's easy to DIY. Mohawks can come in many different varieties, with long or short hair. Just remember, the longer the hair is, the harder it is to stand it up.

You will need:

  • Hair clippers
  • A thin comb to part hair
  • A friend to help cut the hair
  • Razor
  • Shaving cream
  • Hair gel
  1. It is best to have a friend to help you cut the hair. Use the comb to part the hair before you attempt to cut it. A little trick you can use is to use your irises as your part; if you do it for both sides of the part it will make the mohawk a decent thickness.
  2. Start cutting the hair with the clippers. Use them either without a guard or with the shortest one you have. Have your friend cut the hair to make sure no hair on the other side of the part is cut. This step is challenging because the part needs to be perfectly straight.
  3. Once the hair is cut short, the rest will need to be shaved off. Have the friend shave the rest of the hair off with the razor and shaving cream. Now you can take a shower to get all of the hair off of you. When you are done showering, use the hair gel to stand the hair up. You now have your very own mohawk.
