Learning how to get over ex can move you past the sorrow of what you had and instead focus your attention on future aspects of love and life. Getting over the ex can be easier than you think, but you’ll need to be willing to move past love lost and pursue something fun! If you’re ready and motivated, than take a glance at what you’ll need to get over your ex.

  • To get over your ex, you’ll need the following items:
  • Time
  • Patience
  • Cash
  • Reliable transportation
  • Old friends
  1. Old friends are best friends. The first step to getting over your ex is spending some quality time with your best buds. In most serious relationships, friend time is replaced by well, let’s call it “ex-time.” While there’s no way of making up for lost time, you can start to heal by rekindling old memories with some of your best buds. If you’re comfortable with it, consider talking to these old friends about what happened in an effort to move on from your ex. There’s no reason to bottle up your emotions and let them eat away at you. Instead, be honest and open with yourself and others.
  2. Cut old ties. The next step to getting over an ex is eliminating anything from your life that reminds you of them. This can include selling old furniture, ridding yourself of little idiocies of love, or even something more drastic like relocating or selling your house/apartment. While we certainly hope that it won’t come to something that drastic, sometimes it’s necessary to do in an effort to get over your ex. If you have mutual friends with your ex, you may have to consider cutting ties with them to prevent any old flare-ups of emotion over your ex.
  3. Have some fun! The final step to getting over your old ex is to go out and have some fun with your friends. This can include going to the bars, a movie, dinner, or a variety of things which you’ll enjoy doing with your old buds. Try to avoid any areas that could remind you of your ex. In times, even these places won’t be stained by the stigma of the pain that they caused you. Instead of dwelling on the past, make new memories and experience new things in these places!

While getting over your ex isn’t as easy as snapping your fingers and being done with it, you can do it. It’s never easy getting over your ex; neither should it be a scenario in which you rush into trying to get over them and end up hurting yourself in the end. Follow these steps and don’t fall into the old recesses of your ex. If you do this, you’ll be well on way to getting over your ex!
