How to get over your ex-girlfriend is a process that requires some work. Time is the great healer of all broken hearts and broken relationships, but there are some things that you can do to speed up the healing process. It's sad, but life does go on. Tough love treatment tells you to suck it up and stop acting like a baby, but men do cry and men also need some TLC to get over times like this. The worse thing you can do is drown your sorrows. Some constructive suggestions including getting you out with others and focusing on something other than the breakup. You'll need some basic equipment to get over your ex-girlfriend, including;
- computer with internet connection
- some friends
- family members
- a new tattoo
- stationary and stamps
- some sort of transportation
- Take dance lessons. This only works if you can't dance at all. The pain of the dance lessons will be enough to make you forget anything.
- Volunteer to help others. This is the tough love part that tells you to get out and help someone worse off than you are. You've only lost a girlfriend, there are plenty of women in the world. Some folks are way worse off than missing a solo girlfriend. Get yourself out there and join an organization such as Habitat for Humanity or a local food bank and get to work. The Salvation Army puts on big volunteer pushes around the winter holidays. Volunteer to take your mind off yourself.
- Start a new blog. Vent your heart out on a new blog, but don't name names. The old school technique to forget involved a diary, but the new school vent is a blog. Whatever you do, do not use your cell phone to text any of the venting. Shut down your Facebook and Twitter accounts before you get down to doing the blog. Texting or sexting your ex-girlfriend will only make things worse. In fact, sexting might even get you a court injunction.
- Get a new tattoo. This won't work for men who have tats. It's a way to get over your ex-girlfriend for men without tattoos. By the time you experience the pain of a large tat on your soft chest, you'll forget you ever had a girlfriend.
- Do some things for family members. If you have living grandparents or if you're near your parents, get out and give them a hand for the weekend. This gets your mind off you and more on helping others.
- Write some letters. Letters to strangers are a good way to take your mind off your own problems and connect with someone else. If you need someone to write to, contact your local USO. If you don't have one, write some letters and send them to the national USO. The organization will send these off to soldiers who need some human contact to chat about things back home.
- Sort your socks. Go through your own clothing and sort through things that remind you of the time you spent with your ex-girlfriend. Make a stack and once you're done, bag the items up and take them to a homeless shelter. It doesn't matter if one of the items is a nice leather jacket, you're making a clean start. No strings to remind you of the painful past with your ex-girlfriend.
