If your relationship is in shambles or has already ended, then you need to know how to get over your girlfriend. It is not a pleasant thing to think about but it is sometimes a part of life that has to be dealt with. It may be a hard process, and it is not necessarily a fast one, but once you get over your girlfriend, you can move on with your life rather than be held back with sadness, these tips will help you get over your girlfriend, and be better in the end.

  1. Cut off contact with her for a while. It may be difficult but getting away from her for a while will give you some time to clear your mind and will help you get over your girlfriend. Do not call her, text her, email her, or do anything that would constitute contact until you are past the emotional point that makes you want to hold on with her.
  2. Don’t go to places the two of you often went to. If you visit places with that sentimental link to them, you will be bound to think about her, whether it’s positive or negative, you don’t want to focus your mind in anything involving her for a while. Get over your girlfriend by finding new places, and avoiding the old ones. You can go back to those once you are over her.
  3. Don’t internet stalk her on social networks. It may be tempting to frequently go to her social networking pages just to see how she is doing; however, giving yourself constant updates about her will only help sustain your interest in her, and won’t do anything to help you get over your girlfriend.
  4. Go out and do things with your friends. Go out and hang with your friends, they can be just what you need to get over your girlfriend. Go to places you and your friends haven’t been a while, or go to a new place, just make sure its somewhere  that will keep your mind off your ex girlfriend
  5. Start dating again only when you’re ready. Don’t jump into dating too soon, but don’t wait long on it either. If you are ready to date then go for it, but if you know you still need some time don’t try to find someone to fill that void too early because you will only hurt everyone in involved.
