How To Get Recon Armor On Halo 3

People who know how to get Recon armor on Halo 3 fall into three categories. They are either employees of Bungie Studios, creative individuals, or die hard fans of the series. Only with the recent release of the prequel entitled Halo 3 ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Troopers), most gamers could only dream of the coveted armor. But now with a little perseverance, patience and tons of spare time, anyone can do it. Well technically anyone can do it but it still an incredibly tough achievement. To get Recon Armor on Halo 3, you will need:

• Xbox 360
• Halo 3
• Halo 3 ODST

1. Employee benefit package. The easiest way to get Recon Armor is to work for Bungie Studios. The armor was designed as an employee perk. Sadly, they are still not accepting resumes from people whose only job skill is they can play Xbox games for twelve hour stretches in their underwear.
2. Getting noticed. Before the release of Halo 3 ODST, the only other way to get the Recon armor in Halo 3 was to stand out from the crowd. While Bungie Studio kept the armor for themselves they decided to dole it out every now and then on a merit system. Players who did outrageously silly things like the Self Snipe Suicide move where awarded the Recon armor. They also rewarded Recon armor to players who designed incredibly fun levels on forge. But back then, it was quite a rare thing to see or know anyone with Recon armor.
3. For us mere mortals. Now that Halo 3 ODST is out, anyone with skill can earn their stripes and get the Recon armor in Halo 3. But it is not easy. You must complete seven of the Vidmaster challenges. Four of these challenges are found in Halo 3 and the other three are in Halo 3 ODST. In Halo 3 the Vidmaster challenges to complete are: Halo 3 Annual, Brainpan, Lightswitch and Seven on Seven. For Halo 3 ODST, the three Vidmaster challenges you need to complete are Classic, Deja Vu and Endure.
4. Unlock. After you complete all seven challenges, you can finally get the Recon armor in Halo 3. Log onto your Halo 3 Service Record at Bungie.net with your Windows Live account. Now select the button that says 'unlock my recon” and presto.
