How To Get Rid Of Direct TV

If you have decided to get cable or are simply tired of paying for satellite, this is how to get rid of Direct TV. Unfortunately, you will not be able to cancel Direct TV online, you have to call them in order to accomplish this. Call Direct TV's office at 1-800-531-5000 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. in order to cancel your service. If you are moving and wish to have Direct TV set up at your new home, they can assist you with accomplishing that. If you simply want to cancel the service completely, they can take care of that for you as well. Be aware that if you have boxes and remotes that you have leased through Direct TV, you will need to return those within seven days of cancellation in order to avoid being charged for them.

You may be charged an early cancellation fee if you have not satisfied the terms of your contract with Direct TV, so consider whether or not it costs more to cancel or to let the contract run its course. Otherwise, if you have fulfilled your commitment, you are free to cancel and return the equipment and never look back! Generally speaking, you are not required to return the actual satellite dish.
