An ingrown hair can sometimes cause inflammation or even an infection under the skin, here are instructions for how to get rid of an ingrown pubic hair. They can be troublesome and painful, but there are effective remedies you can use to take care of ingrown hair. An ingrown hair is a hair that has broken below the skin surface. An ingrown hair can also be curly hairs where the curled part has not completely grown to the surface of the skin.

To get rid of an ingrown pubic hair, you will need:

  • Tweezers
  • Exfoliating Sponge
  • Tea Tree Oil
  1. Tweezing the ingrown hair. With a curly pubic hair that has not fully broken through, you can simply grab the hair that is exposed and pluck it from the skin. Whatever you do, do not go digging into the skin for the hair. By digging into the skin you can introduce an infection into the skin causing more problems than an ingrown hair.
  2. Exfoliating the area. By exfoliating the area gently you remove the dead skin cells. By removing the dead skin cell layer you are helping to enable the ingrown hair to come out.  Be gentle with using an exfoliating sponge, as you do not want to damage the skin.
  3. The benefits of tea tree.  Applying tea tree to the area will help heal the area under the skin. When the area is not inflamed or infected, it gives room for the ingrown hair to start working its way out from under the skin.  Rubbing the area with tea tree after shaving or any hair removal process will also help prevent ingrown hairs.
