If you want to know how to get rid of whiteheads, you are not alone. Whiteheads, one of the types of Acne Vulgaris, can pop up (no pun intended) when the hair follicles get clogged with things like dirt, oil, dead skin cells, and cosmetics. If you have whiteheads, you know how unattractive they can be. The last thing you need when you're talking to that new hot girl at work is a big huge whitehead staring her down. Quick and simple remedies exist that will have her happy to stare at you whitehead-free face.

To get rid of whiteheads, you will need:

  • Vinegar
  • Cornstarch
  • A mixing bowl and spoon
  • A gentle cleanser
  • A large bowl for steaming
  • A towel
  1. A Vinegar/Cornstarch Facial. This is one of the most popular home remedies for getting rid of whiteheads. Pour some cornstarch into a bowl. Add vinegar a little at a time, stirring the concoction until it forms a paste. Apply this paste to your face and let it sit for 15 to 30 minutes before washing it off with warm water.
  2. Clean your Skin the Right Way. Considering what causes whiteheads, washing your face several times a day with the toughest soap possible would seem to be the best way to get rid of whiteheads. However, washing your face too often, with a cleanser that are too harsh, can end up irritating your skin, and making skin problems worse. Instead, try washing your face 2 or (at most) 3 times a day with a gentle cleanser that won’t strip your skin.
  3. Steam Cleaning Your Skin. A good steam is another popular and effective way to get rid of whiteheads. The steam will help to unclog those hair follicles. Simply fill a bowl (or, in a pinch, a sink) with hot water. With a towel draped around the back of your head, lean over the bowl, so that the towel forms a tent around your face. You will have to stay in this position for 10 minutes, so consider having some of your favorite music playing in the background so you won’t get bored. After the steam, wash your face as usual.  Giving your face a steam clean about once or twice a week will help get rid of whiteheads in no time.
