Do you need to learn how to get smell out of a sweatshirt without washing it? What do you do when you want to wear your favorite sweatshirt, but it isn't clean? The obvious answer would be to wash it. Unfortunately, we just don't always have the time. If you really need your sweatshirt to smell clean and fresh, there are ways to get rid of the smell without having to throw it in the machine. There are a few different methods you can use.
- Fabric refresher. Glade and Febreeze both make spray designed to eliminate odors from fabric. Use the Glade Clean Linen scent for a smell closest to freshly washed laundry. Make sure the sweatshirt is wet. You can then throw it in the dryer with a fabric softener dryer sheet for a few minutes.
- Baking soda. You can also freshen your needed sweatshirt by using baking soda. Baking soda neutralizes odors. Take a kitchen-size garbage bag and place about 1/2 a cup of baking soda inside. Add the garment and shake for about 30 seconds. Let the sweatshirt sit in the bag with the baking soda for about ten minutes. You can then remove from the bag and shake off the excess powder.
- Vinegar. Another method to remove odor, is a combination of vinegar and water. Lightly spray the sweatshirt with a mixture of one part white distilled vinegar and three parts water. Vinegar is an excellent deodorizer. Germs cause the odors. Vinegar naturally destroys the germs. Hang it in the sun to dry. Don't worry about smelling like a salad. The vinegar smell dissipates as it dries.
