Want to know how to get tickets for the World Cup 2010? You’re the world’s biggest soccer fan and you’re salivating--not because you’re eating a delish cheese danish but because you know that we are going to hook you up like Morpheus did Neo in "The Matrix." Here’s your guide to getting tickets to 2010’s most anticipated sporting event.

  1. Buy them online. This is the easiest way to get tickets to the 2010 World Cup. Head over to the official FIFA site, scope out the offerings and pick yourself up some tickets. Along the way, FIFA will hustle you to the fullest capacity, offering transportation and hotel packages. Buying the tickets online is a simple and direct way to achieve your goal.
  2. Win them. This is easier said than done, but many outlets are offering tickets through competitions and raffles. if you try and try again, you might just win. Spanish language magazine "Football Total" is holding a Trip to South Africa contest, so check them out online.
  3. Buy them in person. For residents of South Africa, FIFA recently unveiled World Cup ticket vending machines that look a good deal like the automatic ticketers at the Cineplex. If South Africa is anything like it’s depicted as in “District 9,” the prawns are gonna rip these things open in about two shakes of a lamb’s tale and barter the tickets for cat food, but it’s one more way to get World Cup tickets.
  4. Become a journalist. We’re trying our darndest to do this, but thus far, no dice. Compile a portfolio of soccer pieces from in-depth game analysis to top ten lists of greatest players and present it to a news agency that’s looking for an on-site reporter. You’ll most likely get put up in some no star crap hole and have to work twelve hours a day, but there are few things sweeter than being on the front lines writing about the world’s most beautiful game.

There you have it. A quick run down on how to get tickets to the World Cup. Now go out there and get 'em. Let us know how it looks pitchside.
