  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Utility knife
  1.  Separate the tape. Remove the paper backing located on the back of the tape sheet. Gently remove the paper to avoid damaging the tape.
  2. Join it to the board. Leave a slight overhang as you start the grip at the nose of the skateboard. Press the grip onto the deck of the board.
  3. Work slowly. Work carefully as you attach the tape to the center and one to the tail of the board. Avoid creating bubbles in the tape.
  4. Score and cut. Apply the edge of a Phillips screwdriver on the grip to trace around the outside of the deck. Use a utility knife to cut off excess grit as one of the ending steps of how to grip a skateboard.
  5. Finish the grip. If necessary use sandpaper to file down jagged edges on the deck. Now you are finished, you have successfully gripped a skateboard.
