You might need to know how to hard reset a Blackberry Curve if you’re just ready for a fresh, new start. Sometimes things can become corrupted in the Blackberry Curve filesystem, or it may be littered with a lot of junk. Either way, it’s easy to hard reset a Blackberry Curve, and it should be acting perfectly normal again after only a few minutes!

To reset a Blackberry Curve, you will need:

  • Blackberry Curve
  1. Make a backup of the device to be on the safe side. A hard reset will essentially wipe your handheld device and restore it back to factory defaults. Because this is a pretty dramatic process, be sure that you have backed up your phone to ensure that you’re not losing anything critical.
  2. Once you’re ready, open up the “Options” menu on the Blackberry Curve. To do this, bring up the main menu by pressing the menu button on the phone and finding “Options.”
  3. Once you’ve open the “Options” menu, it’s time to browse to the “General Settings.” To do this, find “Security Options” and open it. You should see “General Settings” on the list of options.
  4. Make sure “General Settings” has been opened and press the menu button for a list of new options. Pressing the menu button will display a list of tasks that you can perform under “General Settings.” Search the list for the task, “Wipe Handheld” and press it. Essentially, to hard reset a Blackberry Curve (or any Blackberry), this is done by “wiping the handheld.” Once you’ve selected this option, you will be asked if you’d like to confirm the selection. Select “Yes” to continue with the wipe of the Blackberry Curve.
