Learn how to hardwire an iPod to a car stereo in order to listen to your music in your automobile. You may have all of your favorite music on your iPod and you want to take it along with you while driving your car. Fortunately, an iPod could be hardwired to a car stereo. It is an easy task and takes minimal time.

Things you will need:

  • 3.5mm tape adapter
  • iPod
  • Car/car Stereo

Steps

  1. Insert your cassette adapter into your car's stereo. The cassette tape should go into your car stereo easily. Do not jam the cassette adaptor into the car stereo or you could damage the stereo. Do not expect to hear any audio once the cassette is inside of the car stereo.
  2. Take your iPod and connect it to the cassette adapter. There should be a 3.5 mm audio inlet at the end of the cassette adapter. It should fit perfectly into the headphone outlet at the bottom of the iPod. Do not jam any parts in that may not fit. Make sure that your iPod and your car stereo is powered on for successful hardwiring.
  3. Play a song from your iPod. Use your iPod normally and play a song from it. It can be any song, you just need to test if the connections work. The sound should come from the car stereo's speakers. Please note that ejecting the cassette adapter from your car stereo would cause the hardwiring to be interrupted. Otherwise, you could use your iPod as usual and all sound should come from the car stereo's speaker.
