  1. Wash the sore or wound thoroughly. When you first get a bite or sore, wash it thoroughly with warm water and soap using a washcloth. Washing the would will clean the area to remove any dirt and germs.
  2. Apply antibacterial ointment. Keep a good antibacterial ointment on hand to apply to wounds. Place a small amount on your finger then apply it to the wound or scab. This practice will heal scabs faster by keeping out infection.
  3. Leave it alone. As tempting as it might be, avoid scratching or picking at the scab. Scabs form to seal the wound. When the scab is removed, the body has to start all over again to heal the area. Removing the scab or scratching also exposes the would to possible infections.
  4. Place a bandage over the scab. If you find it difficult to leave the scab alone or if it is unsightly, place a bandage over the scab to heal scabs fast. Exposure to the air will  help it heal so remove the bandage at night while you're sleeping.
  5. Apply lotion. Scabs can become itchy when the skin around the scab is pulled by the scab healing. Apply a small amount of hand or body lotion to the area around the scab to keep it soft and conditioned.
