How to Hide Desktop Icons

To hide desktop icons on the screen of your desktop/ laptop computer system is a simple task and takes only a matter of seconds to complete. Once completing the task a few benefits will be apparent. The process of booting up the window system will increase and you will now enjoy that great image saved as your desktop wallpaper without the clutter.

To hide desktop icons on the screen of the Vista operating system, perform these simple steps.

Start the Vista system. Once the Desktop is viewable, proceed with the first step. First, right-click on an empty area of the desktop, a menu will appear. Second, select “View” a sub-menu will display. Third, select and click the “Show Desktop Icons” option to hide all the desktop icons. In three easy steps, you have cleared the desktop Icons from the Vista desktop.

Note: In order to show the desktop icons, simply right-click , select  "View" then select and click "Show Desktop Icons" option. The desktop icons have re-appeared.

Start the XP system. Once the Desktop is viewable, proceed with the first step. First, right-click on an empty area of the desktop, a menu will appear. Second, select “Arrange Icons By” a sub-menu will display. Third, select and click the “Show Desktop Icons” option to hide all the desktop icons. In three easy steps, you have cleared the desktop Icons from the XP desktop.

Note: In order to show the desktop icons, simply right-click , select  "Arrange Icons By"  then select and click "Show Desktop Icons" option. The desktop icons have re-appeared.
