Want to learn how to hit a tennis ball? Hitting a tennis ball looks fairly easy, but it is not the easiest thing to do in the world. When you are in a tennis match, a ball could fly right passed or in front of you. It could be difficult to get a good angle to hit the tennis ball. Learn how to properly hit a tennis ball from these simple steps.

Things you will need:

  • Tennis racket
  • Tennis ball
  1. Watch the ball. Eye activity is important when trying to hit a tennis ball. Never watch the other player; watch the ball. It is best to not turn your head if it is unnecessary to watch the ball. Just use a lot of eye movement because turning the head frequently could make you lose track of the ball easily due to blind spots.
  2. Try to hit low balls from underneath. Never try and hit a low ball straight forward or with a forehand. Always hit it from underneath. When you hit a low ball from underneath, you increase your chances of hitting the tennis ball.
  3. Add force to your strokes. There are a number of ways to exert force on a tennis ball. You could apply added force through your arms using both hands or by stepping forward when planning to hit a ball.
  4. Be speedy. It is important to act as quickly as possible when playing tennis. When you see an oncoming ball, aim for it immediately. High, fast balls are normally hit with forehands. If you are in a serious tennis match, diving to hit a ball if you have to is common.
