Learn how to hook up a Playstation to a Sony Bravia television so you can save yourself the time of having to read the whole instructions manual and the money to hire someone to do it for you. The Playstation comes in three separate main models: one, two and three. The Playstation one and two both hook up in very similar ways, but the Playstation 3 may differ depending on whether or not you have an HDMI cable or HD audio cords.
Things you'll need:
- Sony Playstation
- Sony Bravia television
- Power strip (optional)
- HDMI cable or HD audio cable (optional)
- To hook up a Playstation to a Sony Bravia television, you first need to make sure you have space for gaming system. Check to make sure there is an open outlet for the power cord. If there is not, you should purchase a power strip. You will also need to make sure the Playstation is close enough to the TV so that the cords can reach both the outlet and the TV itself.
Figure out which kind of Playstation you have before hooking it up to the Sony Bravia television. Playstation one and two will follow the same method. Plug the power cord into the back of the Playstation and into the wall. Next plug the audio/video cord into the Playstation and into the Sony Bravia. This will require you to plug the white cord into the white slot, the red into the red slot and the yellow into the yellow.
If you have a Playstation 3, you may or may not be able to follow the same instructions as before. If you do not have an HDMI cable or HD audio cables, you can follow the same method. If you do have an HDMI cable, you need to plug it into the Playstation 3 and the Sony Bravia television. You will not need the audio/video cord if you are using an HDMI cable.
If you are using the Playstation 3 HD audio cord, you will need to make some changes as well. The HD audio cord has three additional plugs that go into the back of the Sony Bravia. Make sure you match them up according to color, so blue will go with blue, green with green and orange with orange.
