Finding out how to hook up stereo speakers to your computer can maximize the output volume on your computer’s music library. Being able to hook your computer up to stereo speakers could be great for watching movies through your iTunes account or streaming videos from Youtube. Hooking your computer up to stereo speakers could also be great for listening to all of the music you have on your computer. Here is a guide on how to hook your computer up to stereo speakers:

  1. Load your music library. If you’re using iTunes, load the program and wait until you have access to your music.
  2. Plug the wires from the speakers into the speaker input of your computer. There will be an input labeled for where you put the speaker insert. Be sure to plug it all the way in and not leave room for it to pull out.
  3. Go back to your music library. Play a song on the speakers so you have an idea of what the sound quality is. If the sound quality isn’t very good, try to turn the volume down on the computer and the volume up on the speakers.
  4. Equalize the speakers. If you listen to a certain kind of music, you may want to equalize your speakers to fit that type of music. For instance, if you listen to a lot of rap music, you may want to bring the treble down a little and boost the bass. If you listen to jazz you may want to boost the mid levels and bring down the treble a little bit.
