Wondering how to improve your tennis game? It's not fun to lose a tennis match, but sometimes that's what drives players to improve. Working hard and smart at improving your tennis game is the only way to get better. Doing nothing assures your tennis game will stay at the same level.

To improve your tennis game, you need:

  • time for practice
  • automatic ball machine
  • many tennis balls

  1. Improve your tennis game by getting an automatic ball machine. You probably don't have a friend that wants to get out there and practice as long as you want to, and a ball machine is always ready to go to the court. You can set up routine shots that hone your skills.
  2. Practice regularly. You will not get better if you are not out on the court going over the skills of the shots. The more you practice the more you improve your tennis game. Use the automatic ball machine to drill on the ground strokes. Make sure to cover the entire court as you practice. Follow up with practicing serves. Make sure to cover quick serves as well as power serves, in a game you need to mix up the serves to your advantage.
  3. Take some lessons. No matter what your skill level, it's always good to get some instructions from a pro. Tennis players can develop bad habits over time and having a pro spot what you are doing can correct problem areas quickly.
  4. Enter tournaments. Having a set goal of scheduled tournaments will drive you to practice and also provide some feedback as to how you are progressing. When you improve your tennis game, the results will show during the tournaments.

Used tennis equipment, such as automatic ball machines, are a good choice for players just getting started. Each time you practice spend at least 30 minutes on ground strokes and another 30 on serves. Only by repeating the shots will your body memorize what to do.
