How To Increase Metabolism
Most of us have a friend or two who can eat all day long and not gain a pound. You, on the other hand, gain six pounds just from looking at food, not to mention the fact that you only eat three meals a day. Why do you gain weight instead of losing it? These are tips on how to increase metabolism efficiently and effectively.
- Eat smaller and healthier meals: To increase metabolism of food, you need to eat five to six small meals a day. Instead of eating a huge breakfast loaded with bacon, eggs, and pancakes eat whole grain cereal or oatmeal. Try turkey bacon and eggbeaters with wheat toast. For a snack have a protein shake or snack bar. Lunch can be a salad with low calorie dressing and dinner may consist of chicken breast and baked potato. For those who absolutely cannot live without the bacon, eggs, and pancakes, eat smaller portions.
- Drink plenty of water: Water is the gift of the Gods. It is the only true fat free, low-calorie beverage in the world. Drinking ice-cold water will kick start your metabolism into high gear without stalling out at the end of the day. How does it increase metabolism? It burns calories and cleanses the digestive system.
- Exercise: The most important way to ensure that tips one and two work without fail is to incorporate exercise into the mix. There is no better way to increase metabolism than working up a sweat. How you work up that sweat is up to you. Aerobics, strength training, kick boxing, and even sex all speed up metabolism by burning calories and fat.
