Looking for directions on how to install auto windshield washers? It is very important that you inspect your windshield washers on a regular basis for any damage and replace them when necessary. The absolute worst time to realize you need new windshield washers is during extreme weather conditions. You can purchase  windshield washers for under $20 at your local auto supply store, and they are very easy to install. The two main types of auto windshield washer mounts are hook slot connectors and pin type arms.

  1. Hook slot connectors. Hook slot connectors are the easiest type of auto windshield washer mounts to deal with. All you have to do is bring your windshield washer to a right angle and and look for the flap that attaches the windshield washer to your car. Depending upon the make and model of your car, you will have to either push or unlatch the old wiper blade. To install the new windshield washer, insert the blade into the flap and push it until you hear it lock into place.
  2. Pin type arm. Many older cars use pin type arm mounts for their auto windshield washers. To remove the old auto windshield washer, bring the windshield washer to a right angle and lift out the pin that is holding the windshield washer in place. Place the new windshield washer directly over the slot opening and replace the pin.

It will be easier to remove and install auto windshield washers if you can stop the windshield washers when they are in an upright position on your window. Many auto supply stores will install auto windshield washers that you buy from them at no cost.
