Now that you purchased an HDTV you need to know how to install a cable HDTV. You need to make sure that you have digital cable and an HD cable box with your cable service, if you don't already have it. Installing cable to an HDTV is just a little different from installing cable to a standard-definition TV because you need an HDMI cable in addition to the coaxial cable. There are no special tools required to install cable to your HDTV besides a couple of cable cords. It is quite easy to install cable to your HDTV and will only take a few minutes of your time.
To install cable HDTV you need:
- Coaxial cable
- Plug in the old TV cable from the wall. Connect the coaxial cable that is coming from the wall directly into the "cable In" port on the back of the cable box. Turn the cables clockwise to tighten by hand.
- Connect the HDMI cable. Insert the end of the HDMI with the six-sided plug into the "HDMI Out" port on the back of the cable box. Make sure that the wider edge of the plug stays facing up.
- Connect the HDMI cable to your HDTV. Take the other end of the HDMI cable and connect it to a port that is open on the back on the HDTV. Plugging the HDMI cable to any free port is ok, as it will still allow your cable to work. You have just installed cable HDTV and now you can enjoy your digital high-definition cable television on your HDTV.
