How To Install A Code Number To A Television

You just purchased a new TV and want to know how to install a code number to a television. Programming a television to a remote makes it possible to control your television from a distance. Setting a code enables you to connect the television and remote control together. Each television has it own set of codes and you have to program the right code in order for the television and remote to work correctly. To install a code number to a television only take a few minutes and is very easy to do.

To install a code number to a television you need:

• remote control
• remote manual

1. Turn on the television. Press down and hold down the "Code Search" button on the remote control. Once the light flashes on the remote release the button.
2. Locate the television code. You will be able to find the correct code(s) in your remote manual for you television. Search for your television and its make and model and you will find the code number to enter for your television.
3. Punch in the television code.  Push the "TV" button on the remote control and then enter in the program code. There may be multiple codes for your television brand. Try the first code on the list and then go through the other codes one at a time until you find the correct code that works for your television.
4. The television will power off when the correct code is found. Your television will automatically save the correct program code by powering off your television. Power the television remote on when you are ready to operate your television from your remote control.
