Need to know how to install a sound system in your car? A car sound system may be referred to as "system" or "audio", which includes a stereo and receiver  head unit. There are people who refer to the sound system or car’s audio system as one that contains two or more speakers including an amp and a sub woofer. People interpret car sound systems differently. It’s best to really know what you are getting into when you start the project.

Things needed to install a car sound system

  • Car stereo receiver
  • Compatible wring harness
  • Wire cutter
  • Wire stripper
  • Screwdrivers
  • Electrical tape
  1.  Removing the old receiver Remove the old receiver from car. First  disconnect the battery’s negative cable. Remove the dashboard with a screwdriver. You will now have access to the receiver. Carefully disable the wires connected to the car’s battery, antenna and the wring harness. Once you have disabled the harness wires the receiver can be removed from the car. The wring harness is always in two parts, which connects to the receiver and the speakers.
  2. Installing the new harness  Attach the harness to the receivers. The receivers now can be attached to the speakers incased within the wring harness. Keep close to the opening within the dash that opens for the harness and receivers. The red and black power cable will need to be connected to the antenna, speakers and receiver.
  3. Connecting the power cable Once all the wires are connected to your car. Attached the power cable to the negative charge of your battery. Turn on the car to make sure everything works and the music turns on properly. If everything is working properly screw on the dashboard and installation of the new car sound system is complete.

A car sound system remains an easy task if done correctly by following all the simplified steps in doing the work. The best part of the installation is that you have completed the project yourself.
