If you do not know how to iron pants, now is the perfect time to learn. Pants that have been ironed help a man to look sharp, and well put together. Pressed pants are indicative of a man who is conscious of his overall appearance, which is soemthing women love to see. Follow these steps for a quick and easy press.

To iron your pants you will need:

  • Iron
  • Ironing Board
  • Water
  1. Fill the iron with water and plug it into an outlet. Adjust the temperature dial on the iron so that it corresponds with the fabric you are going to iron. If you are unsure of the fabric check the label on the tag in the pants.  Allow the iron to get hot.
  2. Turn the pants inside out, laying them flat lengthwise against the surface of the ironing board. You'll want to test a small area to make sure the iron is not too hot. Begin with the pockets by moving the iron up and down along the fabric and making the pockets flat.
  3. Iron the fly area of the pants. Avoid allowing the iron to sit in one area of the pants for too long, because you may burn or damage the pants.
  4. Once you finish with the fly, move on to first leg and iron the seams and hem. Continue moving the iron up and down in a back and forth motion until you have a flat finish to the pants.
  5. Repeat the process on the second leg to iron it into a smooth finish.
  6. Turn the pants right side out to iron them. You want to fit the waistband of the pants around the narrow, pointy part of the ironing board. The fly area should be facing downward to the floor. Begin with ironing the waistband, rotating them around the board to iron the entire waistband.
  7. Remove the pants from the end of the ironing board. Fold the paints lengthwise and place them on the board. Lift one pant leg up to iron the inside part of the leg. Turn the pants over and iron the outside.
  8. Repeat the process on the second leg to iron it into a smooth finish
  9. Create a front crease on the pants if desired. Align the seams of the pants and place pants on the ironing board to iron the crease. Move iron over the edges of the legs to create a sharp crease.
  10. Turn the iron off, unplug it, and hang the pants immediately to avoid wrinkles. If you hang the pants immediately you will preserve all of the hard work you just completed!
