How To Join The PGA

You love golf and you want to know how to join the PGA. Many people dream about playing golf with the professionals. Many people have the dream about the PGA Tour, only a few succeed. This dream takes a lot of work. You need to be sure you want to know how to join the PGA before you begin. If you are sure, you are ready to shoot for your dream.

What you need to join the PGA:

 

    • Golf clubs
    • Golf shoes
    • Tees
    • Golf balls
    • Tournament entrance fees
    • Internet access
    1. Play in local golf tournaments. Win the tournaments and make a name for yourself locally. Once you make a name for yourself, you are ready for the next step.
    2. Another way to join the PGA Tour would be to become an amateur golfer. Win tournaments as an amateur golfer and eventually qualify as an amateur in larger tournaments. Win larger tournaments and get invited to a PGA Tour event as an amateur. Win the PGA Tour event and receive an exemption to play in the PGA Tour.
    3. You do not become an amateur. Instead, you play in larger tournaments and win those. You are making a name for yourself in the golf world. It is time for you learn how to qualify for the big time.
    4. Monday Qualifying tournaments. The Monday Qualifying Tournaments are the larger Tournaments that can lead you to the PGA. The Monday Qualifying Tournaments are like the Little League for the PGA Tour. If you win enough Monday Qualifying Tournaments (and finish in the top 125 for money earnings) you will get a call to the majors. In this case, the Majors would be the PGA Tour.
    5. If you are a great golfer, you could pick up some sponsorship from large companies. The sponsor can make it so you get to play in a PGA Tour event. If you win this Tour event, you will get an exemption. This means you are qualified to play in the PGA Tour for two full years.
    6. The last step to join the PGA Tour is through the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. You can sign up for this Tour on the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament website.  This site has the information, the forms to fill out, and all the information you will need to join the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournaments. If you finish in the top twenty-five in this tournament, you will automatically receive your PGA Tour card.
    7. Once you make it to the PGA Tour, go to their orientation, sign up for some tournaments, and live your dream. You made it, it is time for you to play golf in the PGA Tour.

    Tips

    • Follow all rules on all golf courses.
    • If you want to be a professional, act like a professional.
    • Practice your golf skills every day. When you make it to the PGA Tour, you will be playing against the best.
